WELCOME FROM THE PASTOR

Greetings to you:

The people of First Baptist Church, Shreveport are living an experiment, based on the teachings of Jesus. We believe that life at its best comes when we give our lives away, so we're looking for every way we can to give our lives away to God, one another, the world, and a new generation. What we're finding is what followers of Jesus have experienced for two millennia now--You can never outgive God! The more we worship, love, serve, and welcome the new, the more life flows into our lives.

This isn't just philisophical talk for us. Giving our lives away has led us to add new worship forms while continuing the rich tradition of worship we've enjoyed for years. It has led us to develop discipleship and fellowship ministries that draw us closer together and deeper in faith. It has motivated us to build houses, feed families, tutor children, and develop partnerships in south Louisiana, Guatemala, India, and Macedonia, all in the cause of Christ. It has inspired us to invest in a new wave of ministry, one that is specifically designed to speak to the needs and interests of a new generation.

Are you looking for a safe setting to consider the dangerous claims of Christ? We'd count it a privilege to befriend you in your journey of faith. Are you a follower of Christ looking for a community of others committed to the way of Jesus? We don't pretend to have arrived, but we're certainly on the way and love it when others join us.

First Baptist is located at 543 Ockley Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana 71106.

When are your worship times?
Sunday worship services are held at

Fall and Winter Wednesday services begin at 5:00 pm with dinner followed at 6:00 pm with activities for all ages and worship.

We have a flex schedule in the Summer. Most of our activites are held off campus starting at 6:00 pm. Check the Chimes for more details.

What should I wear?
Dress is casual at First Baptist – no ties required (even though some
members like to wear them anyway.)

When do I need to arrive?
If you arrive 20 minutes early, you will have plenty of time to get to the
Worship Center or Sunday Bible Study class.

Where do I park?
Park in the designated guest parking areas located throughout the campus.

Who can help me find my way?
There are “host/greeters” at each entrance and will gladly help you find your way.

Is there Sunday School also?
Yes, we call it Sunday Bible Study. See our Sunday Bible Study directory to get an idea of the class offerings, or ask a “host/greeter” for help.

Special Assistance
Ample handicapped parking is available close to each entrance. Ask a ‘host/greeter” if you require special assistance on campus.
