A construction team is being put together for March 3-13. And a medical team for March 11-19. If anyone is interested in either of these two trips just see me, Ronney Joe for details and cost’s.
A Leadership team will go in late October early November.
In 2012, First Baptist Church joined the "E-TEAM"--the Ethiopia Aid Mission Network. This group of churches and institutions started in East Texas but has spread to others regions and states. This is a cooperative network of partnering individuals, churches and institutions engaging in ministries and church development in Ethiopia.
The E-TEAM Network is collaborative effort working under a unified strategy and purpose:
- to partner with Ethiopian organizations who engage in children and family services, human needs ministries, and church development,
- to participate with the Ethiopian church in evangelism, leadership training, and church growth,
- to provide financial resources to carry out ministries and train leaders, and
- to recruit and equip short and long term volunteers to engage in cross-cultural ministry and missions.
Ethiopia is a strategic place for investment in the work of the gospel. The capital city, Addis Ababa, is the host nation for the African Union. Ethiopia lies at the intersection of Africa and the Middle East, and the population is split among Ethiopian Orthodox believers and Muslims. While Ethiopia's economic situation has improved from the terrible famines of the past, the population still faces extreme poverty and challenges beyond our experience.
