Local and Global Missions
Our church community shares time and talent with the less fortunate citizens of our area by helping local organizations that serve those in need. We aid the Lord's less fortunate in our state, nation and world through mission trips and awareness activities. Visiting missionaries share their experiences with our congregation and collect offerings for people in need wherever they are.
Mission Churches
As the first " Key Church " in Louisiana, First Baptist Shreveport has organized nine new churches over the years. Currently, we sponsor and support these missions:
Deaf Mission
Our Deaf Ministry has flourished through more than 70 years. Pastor Mike McKee offers a full program of worship, education, outreach, and mission ministries at 2601 Highland Avenue .
International and Chinese Mission
Chinese and English Sunday School classes are available
at 9:45 a.m. , followed by the Worship Service at 11:00 a.m.
each Sunday in Frost Chapel. International pastor Gideon Lim
offers Worship, Bible study, English instruction, tutoring
help, music, and various other activities to children and
adults.
Highland Outreach Ministries
The outreach ministries at Highland Center include food and clothing distributions as well as counseling for people who have suffered the affliction of drug addiction. Director Mel Brown directs the programs at the center, located at 520 Olive Street .
