Ride the Louisiana and
Texas sides of Toledo Bend
Carl Derrick will lead the ride on Saturday, March 8th, down the Texas side of Toledo Bend with lunch at Fisherman's Galley on the Louisiana side after crossing on the Pendleton Bridge. Stop to get hot tamales in Zwolle on the return.
Meet at the corner of Bert Kouns and Mansfield Road - Brookshires parking lot at 8:45 am (LEAVE AT 9:00 AM). Go south on Mansfield road (Hwy 171) to Kickapoo, then right on Hwy 5 through Keachie to Logansport. Short 15-20 minute break at the Dairy Queen in Logansport.
Cross the Sabine River bridge in Logansport to Haslam, TX. Turn left on FM 2787 to FM 139 then about 26 miles to Texas SR 87 then left on SR 87 for 22 miles to SR 21 then left for about 11 miles to Fisherman's Galley for lunch.
A short distance from here we can stop for gas at the intersection of LA 6 and LA 191. We turn north on LA 191 at this point. From here we go into Zwolle and can go pick up hot tamales.
Now about the hot tamales...They will be hot and fresh! They come in mild, hot, and hot hot and are about $5.50 per dozen.
From Zwolle we travel north on LA 191 to LA 481 then over to Mansfield then back to Shreveport on 4-lane Hwy 171. Should arrive Shreveport about 2:45- 3:00 pm including the stop for hot tamales. The route is about 180 Miles.

We are a Christian motorcycle ministry, setting a Christian example and seeking fellowship with anyone who wants to ride with us. R.O.C.K. rides the 2nd Saturday of each month, year round. In cooler weather (usually Nov - Feb), we ride at 10 am and warmer weather (usually Mar-Oct), we ride at 8 am, weather permitting (we do not ride in rain). Each ride is approximately 4-5 hours in length and will include a meal (dutch treat). We meet at FBC~Shreveport, on the east side of the Church near the Activities Building, at Ockley Drive and Highland Ave. Reminders, updates, and/or changes will be emailed prior to the ride.
