NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS

Ethiopia

Our church is partners with The Ethiopia Aid Mission (TEAM) to host Global Leadership Summits in Ethiopia. The Global Leadership Summits allow people to hear world-class instruction in leadership that they would not have access to otherwise. Leadership is essential for the growth of a people, a nation, and the church. We do this trip in October of each year, and a Construction trip each Spring.

The mission teams we send to Ethiopia set up the summits, provide hospitality and support, and sometimes complete construction projects or pastor training. Click here to learn more about The Ethiopia Aid Mission

Hungary

Once a year, our church takes a mission team to work at the Gandhi School in Pecs, Hungary. Our teams work with the English classes and teach sports classes, all with the goal of sharing God’s love for Romani through Jesus Christ. We also do teacher appreciation, two evening events for the entire school (175 students + faculty and staff€), and a craft afternoon. This trip will be in February 2020.

Church PLanting Partner in Portland, Oregon

Me and Lux__600x600.jpeg

Jason Spurlin

Hey! I was born and raised in East Texas but moved to Portland, Ore., in 2016 to launch a collegiate ministry. I consider myself a Northwesterner now, but that's up for debate among my friends. My number one joy and love in life is Jesus. Outside of Him, I enjoy various things and activities.

About My Church Plant

I am the pastor of college and partner development for Garden Church, serving college students and church partnerships. My goal is to provide biblical community and paths for leadership development within the church and everyday life. My main focus will be at Portland State University (PSU), located in the heart of downtown Portland.

At PSU, loneliness runs rampant among the 27,000 students. Our ministry will bring the name of Jesus to the students, faculty and staff. Our message is simple: As an image bearer of God you are loved, valued and seen through the eyes of Jesus. In our ministry, we will be training and sending out leaders in different career paths to make disciples of Jesus.
